Star Wars is a perfect metaphor for this election.
McCain sucks hope from Obama by telling you, the voter, lies.
Remember this? Mace Windu is about to rock the vote by skewering Palpatine, but Palpatine lies and convinces Anakin to turn against Windu. Yep. Once Obama started rocking the polls, McCain pulled out the big guns: lies, smears, and fear, to trick you into voting against Obama.
Admit it. You're not voting for McCain. You're just voting against Obama.
Star Wars is actually why I'm voting Obama. It taught me that the Empire can be bad, and Rebels can be good, even if most people think rebels are dangerous scum. Star Wars prepped me for U.S. History in high school. I immediately understood that Darth George III was Vader, and George Washington was Luke Skywalker. That they shared the name 'George' confirmed it: Washington was Darth George's son.
King George is compensating for something
Obama learned the same thing, though not by watching Star Wars. No, he lived in the Philippines, under the rule of a U.S. backed dictator. He realizes that America could destroy itself by becoming an Empire.
Some people who are angry call the U.S. the Great Satan. Some of them took out their anger by killing thousands of innocent people. Sound familiar?
Luke, and then Han Solo blew up the Death Star, and we all cheered. They had wiped out the wicked emperor! Unfortunately thousands of innocent people died.
The terrorists attacked America with great destruction, but like in "A New Hope," they didn't kill emperor Bush.
So Emperor Bush struck back, not by going after the guys who did this, but by invading a country of people who happen to have the same ethnicity and religion.
Osama bin Laden has not been caught. He may strike again. But we can't let fear get in the way of sound judgment. If we try to erase every possibility of danger we will wipe ourselves out. (See: The Book of Mormon)
So George Lucas has convinced me to not to support the Empire. So I will support Obama. In other words, I've been brainwashed by the liberal media.
