More E. Coli in beef: Another reason to eat locally

E. Coli grows when agribusinesses feed corn to cows, and raise them in filthy conditions. Cows did not evolve to eat corn, so it messes up their stomachs and allows E. Coli to grow. They spend a large portion of their lives standing in their own crap, munching on government-subsidized genetically-modified corn, cow blood, and chicken crap. They are taken from the concentration camp crap feedlots, hastily washed and slaughtered at 400 cows/minute, and if the meat is contaminated with enough fecal-matter, irradiated. Bon appetite. Cows fed on a grass pasture stand slim chances of harboring dangerous E. Coli . In fact, people ate cows for over 4,000 years without fear of E. Coli , because cows didn't get it until the 1980's when they were put into concentration camps and fed corn. From KSL

Chickens fed arsenic: Another reason to eat locally

"the arsenic compound known as roxarsone is routinely added to chicken feed in many chicken growing operations, reportedly to fight parasites and increase growth of blood vessels to make them more attractive at the supermarket. Arsenic is a known carcinogen and has also been linked to heart disease, diabetes, and declines in brain function " From Take Part

Ron Paul: Torture is Useless and Morally Wrong

Dick Cheney is an a-word. "Everytime you torture somebody, and it becomes known, you create more terrorists." "I agree with Cheney, we are less safe, because we follow the policy of the last administration."

Ron Paul: North Korea is a spoiled child

We helped create North Korea's nuclear program. Let's not give them any more money. In this older video, Paul lays out an enlightened foreign policy from our inspired founders:

By Jove! You worship Jupiter.

Image
God the Father The name for the Roman God "Jupiter" comes from the Greek "Zeus Pateras" or in Latin "Dies Pater," or in the more familiar Spanish, "Dios Padre," or in the even more familiar English, "God the Father." They happened to have a father god, big deal. But you could also call him Jehovah. From Jove to Jehovah: I've read in books people say "by Jove" in place of "by God." Turns out "Jove" is the shortened form of "Jupiter," the equivalent of "God" in place of "God the Father." P and V are equivalent letters. P = V. Also, V is equivalent to U, and the Hebrew letter vau. P = V = U = ו (vau). J is equivalent to I and Y, and P to V to U, so Jove could be spelled IOUE or YOUE, pronounced Yohweh or Yahweh. Not bad. Romans worshipped Jehovah. From Jehovah to Jove It also works from Hebrew to Latin. Jehovah is also spelled Yahweh or Jahweh, because J = I = י (yod, H...

Wal*Mart blesses individuals, kills communities

"academics estimate a new Wal-Mart eliminates a job and a half for every job it creates ." "taxpayers are covering the health care costs of uninsured Wal-Mart workers and buying school lunches for their children." "counties with Wal-Marts have grown poorer than surrounding counties, and the more Wal-Marts they had, the faster they grew poor ." Wal-Mart has transferred American jobs abroad, and sponsored sweatshops around the world. In other words, communities suffer a leeched economy, but individuals benefit from lower prices. Always . The Federal Reserve lobbies congress with a former Enron lobbyist

The Fed hired former Enron lobbyist to prevent congress from passing legislation that would allow them to be audited. Kind of a dumb move, considering Enron was . . . Enron , a company that was able to steal billions from investors before imploding because it wasn't audited. The Fed can print money, they won't have a very hard time bribing congress. They've gone into attack mode because Ron Paul is pushing legislation to allow us to audit them. The Fed is basically a giant bank that can print its own money without any sort of oversight. It has been called legalized counterfeiting. Ron Paul thinks the American people should know what they are up to. Here's a sweet video that looks like a movie trailer with Ron Paul cast as the tragic hero. Thomas Jefferson : "I sincerely believe, with you [John Adams], that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies." Find out if your representative supports this bill . If not, write them, or call the...

E. Coli: Another reason to eat locally

"USDA choice" indeed. "SALT LAKE CITY -- Thousands of pounds of beef sold in Utah are being recalled because they could be contaminated with E. coli. The recalled products include Swift brand meats and boxes marked as USDA choice. For a list, click here." From KSL

Swine Flu for fun and profit$$$

Swine flu is the result of greed at the expense of your health. U.S. Agribusinesses raise pigs in Mexico, because food safety laws do not apply there . So companies could raise hogs in filthy, abusive environments without federal oversight. When the flu broke out, Mexicans were blamed , and the Agribusinessmen walked away clean-handed, just like our other big businessmen have walked away clean-handed after causing the largest financial collapse in history. Is the solution more regulations? Heavens no. Open up the market, so that local farmers can compete with these big bad boys. The big guys lobby for regulations, because they can afford build animal concentration camps in Mexico. The little guy has to farm in his own community, and abide by the rules that break him. Big businesses bribe the congress , falsify food safety studies , create antibiotic-resistant diseases , and pass the cost and blame onto somebody else. Save the world, and your health: buy local. I wrote this becau...

Leave Iran Alone

Ron Paul addressed the congress on Iran: ". . . I have always hesitated when my colleagues rush to pronounce final judgment on events thousands of miles away about which we know very little. . . . Of course I do not support attempts by foreign governments to suppress the democratic aspirations of their people, but when is the last time we condemned Saudi Arabia or Egypt or the many other countries where unlike in Iran there is no opportunity to exercise any substantial vote on political leadership? I t seems our criticism is selective and applied when there are political points to be made . . . . I adhere to the foreign policy of our Founders , who advised that we not interfere in the internal affairs of countries overseas. I believe that is the best policy for the United States, for our national security and for our prosperity. " President Obama agreed with Ron Paul: " Well look, we didn't have international observers on the ground, we can't say definitively ...

US DoD: "Protesters are terrorists."

A US Department of Defense training manual describes protest as "low-level terrorism ." Hey, I found some terrorists in Salt Lake . Here's some more .

Ron Paul (a Republican) says something positive about Obama

In his statement on the House floor last week opposing the resolution condemning Iran, Ron Paul said “I have admired President Obama’s cautious approach to the situation in Iran and I would have preferred that we in the House had acted similarly.” Article on neocon reaction to the President's Iran stance .

Dr. Ron Paul's Diagnosis: The Gov't Will Ruin Health Care

Excerpts: From Corporate medicine, which was deeply flawed, and not working, to government medicine. Introduce the notion that patients do have rights. We shouldn't be forced into a program. We should be very generous with tax credits. Get attorneys out of the ballgame. Freedom does a better job than another gigantic government program.

Sacrilicious

From Nabisco . What a perfect word to describe the Lord's Supper. Lest you think it I who blasphemes, consider how these agribusinesses grow their food . They are doing nothing less than participating in the murder of God's creation. The soil loss and pollution caused by industrial farming will lead to the eventual collapse of our civilization , and to tasty snacks for $1*! * Purchase of said item makes you complicit in the destruction of civilization and of your own health.

USDA tries to kill small farmers

Wendell Berry, a 75 year old writer and Kentucky farmer, threatened to go to jail if the USDA passes NAIS , the National Animal Identification System. The USDA has teamed up with big agribusiness to try to shut down small farms nationwide. The USDA has been holding meetings on NAIS to build support for the program, at a Kentucky meeting, Berry testified: The need to trace animals was made by the confined animal industry – which are, essentially, disease breeding operations . The health issue was invented right there. The remedy is to put animals back on pasture, where they belong. The USDA is scapegoating the small producers to distract attention from the real cause of the trouble. Presumably these animal factories are, in a too familiar phrase, “too big to fail”. This is the first agricultural meeting I’ve ever been to in my life that was attended by the police. I asked one of them why he was there and he said: “Rural Kentucky”. So thank you for your vote of confidence in the peopl...

FLIIIIIIIIIIIIPPER!

Meet Thomas Paine

"Thomas Paine came to America from Great Britain in 1774 when he was 37 years old. He burned with righteous indignation at the cruel tyranny of kings. Half a million copies of "Common Sense," his plainspoken call for rebellion, flooded this fledgling nation of three million people. His rhetoric so moved and persuaded George Washington that he read Paine's words to the troops at Valley Forge. After America won its independence, Paine found himself in another fight, the French Revolution, and wrote another best-seller, "The Rights of Man." But he got into trouble in France and was thrown into prison, narrowly avoiding execution. He returned to America in 1802, a prophet without honor in the nation he helped to create." Eat Responsibly

7 ways to be a responsible eater: 1. Participate in food production to the extent that you can. 2. Prepare your own food. 3. Learn the origins of the food you buy, and buy food that is produced closest to your home. 4. Whenever possible, deal directly with a local farmer, gardener, or orchardist. 5. Learn, in self-defense, as much as you can of the economy and technology of industrial food production. 6. Learn what is involved in the best farming and gardening. 7. Learn as much as you can, by direct observation and experience if possible, of the life histories of the food species. From The Pleasures of Eating by Wendell Berry. When we eat food produced industrially, we give multi-national corporations the go ahead to make our food in secret, without accountability. They have abused this lack of accountability to produce the cheapest food possible at the fastest rate. In doing so they have ruined the soil, polluted our drinking water, spoiled the air we breathe, and abused the h...

News from Finland: Penguin Crap

Penguin crap can be seen from space, according to this article (in Finnish) from the Helsingin Sanomat. And I stayed up until 4am just so I could tell you that.
