Violation of the First Amendment in the United Police States of America.

Everyone needs to see this.

Putin words in my mouth

Image
McCain has said that Obama will lose a war to win an election. Perhaps McCain wants to win a war to win an election. Tsar Putin hinted that "someone" created the Georgian conflict to win votes. In his own words: “The suspicion would arise that someone in the United States created this conflict on purpose to stir up the situation and to create an advantage for one of the candidates in the competitive race for the presidency in the United States. They needed a small victorious war.” By "someone" he undoubtedly meant McCain. It probably sounded more like "Gibblegobbleflippersnapm," if he was speaking in Russian and this is a translation. If he did speak in English for the CNN interview , huzzah for English. USA #1. McCain is good friends with the President of Georgia . Putin thinks the two of them might have schemed an election-winning war together. Putin may be a conspiracy-theory lunatic, as I am, but McCain knows war. He feels comfortable with war....

As God Once Was, We Are Now

A sci-fi writer wrote that sci-fi should approach the questions of life after death, and why we are here. In other words, sci-fi is modern man's socially acceptable approach to religion and philosophy. Another sci-fi writer, who claimed that advanced alien species had quarantined the Earth , wrote: "Why would a Great Teacher, Leader, & Scientist give a murderer a God-Like technology?" This fits the Mormons' heretical view that God will give man all of his power and dominion. That's why He put us here on earth, to test what we would do with a little power. For what a man does with a little, he will do with much.

As Russia Once Was, We Are Now

Image
Condoleezza Rice said in today's New York Times: "This is not 1968 and the invasion of Czechoslovakia, where Russia can invade its neighbor, occupy a capital, overthrow a government and get away with it. Things have changed." I suppose the "things" she refers to are the date and the names of the countries involved. Switch 1968 with 2003, Czechoslovakia with Iraq, and Russia with the U.S., and we're good. Get it right Russia, it's like this: This is like 2003, and the invasion of Iraq, where the U.S. can invade its neighbor, occupy a capital, overthrow a government and get away with it. Get it right Ruskies. If you're an American, perhaps you don't consider Iraq your neighbor. Maybe that's the excuse far-right Christiomaniacs use for not loving them. But if you're in the right plane, you can get to Iraq from the U.S. faster than you can go by car from California to Iowa. Distance is relative. They're close enough for us to cons...

The O is for "Obama"

Image
Big O Tires gave me this bag: My camera is dyslexic, but it says "LOW PRESSURE IN YOUR TIRES EQUALS LOWER MILEAGE RESULTS." Obama said the same thing to America a few weeks ago, and the McCain campaign openly mocked him. Perhaps McCain was confused about tire pressure because his buggy still uses wooden tires.

Imprisoning Immigrants for Fun and Profit

Image
Immigrants who come to the U.S. seeking jobs, freedom, and a better life, are often thrown into prison, with their children , for years. They are not accused of any crime, but simply held, unable to work or live ordinary lives, until legal knots are untied. This can take years. The prisons are run by private, profit-seeking companies . Seems most people have never heard of this. Here are some links so you can get caught up. Children immigrants in prison Children of immigrants in prison (same as in-text link) Haitian dies in immigrant prison Hong Kong man dies in immigrant prison Guinea man dies in immigrant prison Immigrants thrown into U.S. prisons Guards abuse immigrants in prison Prison for profit (same as in-text link) Another outraged blogger says it best Send us your poor and needy, so we can throw them in prison to make a buck. Suckers.

Timeout Inmates

I realized imprisonment was no way to reform a felon when I was seven years old. I took a punch at the babysitter's kid, and though I won the fight, the ref was crooked. She sent me to timeout. Timeout was a chair in her dark, messy bedroom. Left alone, I found a pen and a silver birthday balloon on the floor, and expressed my anger by combining the two. Popping that silver expression of favoritism felt good. Timeout did not reform me from my violent tendencies, but only coupled them with revenge. I'm sure many get thrown in because they don't have the right connections. Both me and the babysitter's kid punched, but only I got imprisoned because he knew the right people. Prisons should be institutions of reform. If she would have listened to me, and given me suggestions of other ways for solving problems, timeout would have been more effective. We, the people, not the government, need to invest more of our time and means with inmates, and need to show more conce...

Why U.K.?

"Why are there no good authors from the U.S.?" My coworkers complained. "Because we don't have universal health care." I responded. Everyone looked at me with elevated eyebrows like I had a cardboard sign that read "The End is Near" written in my own feces. I would like to explain my comment. Authors and artists need lots of leisure time to practice their talents. An author generally needs to write 1,000,000 words of crap before they have the talent to write anything worthwhile. Good musicians spend dozens of hours a week practicing. Americans do not have that much time because they are burdened by debt. If a young person goes to college, on average they will graduate with $19,000 of debt. They may be deterred from obtaining a degree in the arts because it will not guarantee them money. On graduating they will likely get a job that pays about $20,000 a year. Coupled with taxes and other expenses, they will not be able to pay off their loans, ...
