Retarded foreign policy
Ben, my best friend in high school, had a neighbor named Bart. Ben would greet Bart, "Hi Bart."
Bart would respond, "Up your a-- Gowan." Ben's last name was McGowan. Bart would then flip Ben off.
Bart wasn't just angry, he was retarded. Literally. His father was retarded, and he was retarded. Some woman had used sex to take advantage of Bart's father, resulting in Bart, but that's another story.
. . .
U.S. foreign policy relies upon extensive military measures, including the installing and supporting of despots when it fits our fancy, and the disposing and execution of despots when they get in the way.
Dictator Mugabe in Zimbabwe was installed by the U.S. Saddam Hussein was first supported by, and then disposed and executed because of the U.S. The current Iranian despotism, Ayatollah Khomeini, came to power in response of a revolution against U.S. installed and supported former dictator of Iran - Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
The war in Iraq is just one sore cyst on the decrepit and diseased body of U.S. foreign policy.
If the Savior were to return today, the contrast between His teachings and current U.S. foreign policy might prompt that higher being to see us as retarded.

I agree our foreign policy is like an aggressive cancer. I'd be interested to see how someone would refute it though.
ReplyDeleteMan, I miss Bart. They always had a dog that would chase me.
ReplyDeleteNick,
Haven't we heard for the last 8 years how someone would refute it? There is an underlying theme that America has the right and the duty to meddle in everything, and then play the part of the victim when our chickens come home to roost. We talk democracy for Iraq, but if they were to exercise their new "freedom" to elect a Cleric or religious figure or anyone who is anti-American, you can bet the US wouldn't let it stand.
