Human Capital and Spreading the Wealth

War is the exchange of human capital for money. The $700,000,000,000 bank bailout was a onetime deal. Every year we give $400,000,000,000 to war profiteers.

Let me say that again. The government takes our money, and every year, gives it to rich people who design and build weapons of mass destruction.

This is redistribution of wealth on a mass scale. It dwarfs the current debate.

Neither candidate will debate this. They are both for it. Those who oppose it will be labeled 'weak' on defense. They will be booed for neglecting the troops.

By 'the exchange of human capital' I mean that we kill our own troops, other troops, and civilians for profit.
This year you are not voting for big government or small government. You're voting on to what extent we should spend our money on destruction abroad or construction at home.

Unlike cashing in on human capital, investing in human capital does not make money.

If we invest $400 billion in war, some will profit at the expense of poor soldiers.

If we invest $400 billion in education, or healthcare, we do not get a monetary return on our investment. We get kids with better opportunities, and people with a better life. In other words, human capital.

Let me simplify it:

$ + war = $$
$ + social programs = human capital.

And that's why teachers have low salaries, and mothers are not paid at all. There is no monetary return. Only useless, happy, people.

  3. i disagree...human capital DOES equal money. that's why we can call it capital. people raised by good mothers and taught by good teachers are future business owners, inventors, philanthropists, etc. if it means losing money in the long run, the social program isn't worth it, but generally, investing in human well being is going to benefit everyone tomorrow even if we have to sacrifice today.

  4. Good point. But human capital is a long term investment that may not even be reaped by the generation that invests. War produces instant returns.
