A recent study showed that most Utahns believe that health care is a fundamental right , and think reform is a good idea. But when asked about Obamacare, they all freaked out. Partisan politics makes rational people retarded, and turns honest discourse into meaningless slogans and name-calling.

In contrast to my last post about crazy mobs, here's a couple guys who speak rationally about the health care debate. And Bill Moyers, who is always eloquent, also talks about the powerful lobbyists who have taken control of the health care debate. He also talks about the political pundits who have become so powerful. It is interesting that people like Beck and Limbaugh, who are unelected officials, whose very jobs rely on controversy, and who are able to sell books and gain viewership the more antagonistic they can be, should yield so much influence over the American people.

The 9/12 marches are not spontaneous grass-roots protests. They are the manipulated guinea pigs of large, rich political organizations that use Glenn Beck as their mouth piece. Some say that Fox is the only station that will cover the protests. If Fox gets there first it is only because they have insider knowledge. Fox created the protests. And on Obama's other speech, the one to the children: A friend pointed out that thousands of parents taught their children that it is okay to not listen to people you disagree with.

I like the way this guy simplifies the issues He simplifies them according to my beliefs, which makes me like it. He makes some good points.

We need more comedians in office. He speaks highly of the Mayo Clinic. And he doesn't shout insults and mindless slogans. He has an actual conversation. Wow.

This cartoon wants you to have universal health care.

Professor Fink can't get health insurance because he was diagnosed with stomach ulcers when he was 13. He is 3 years overdue on a colonoscopy. And he doesn't like the current Republican strategy.

"Shame of you" indeed.

Sweet. These white Christians who compare Obama to Hitler are the sons and daughters of people who opposed the Civil Rights movement. They are the descendants of slave owners and racists, and many of them are racists themselves. They are heirs of the oppressors. Their supposed protests against tyranny are the very cogs and wheels of tyranny. Their demonstrations show the power of the lynch mob, not strength of character. They stand against Obama because he is black, but do so cloaked in the language of those who stood up against ignorant mobs for the sake of liberty.

Insurance companies will insure you when you're healthy, but as soon as you get a costly illness, they will try to take away your insurance. This notorious and vile act is known as rescission. A woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer had her insurance revoked when she scheduled an expensive double mastectomy. The woman was willing to have her breasts removed in order to live. Instead she had her insurance revoked, and had to wait months to battle the insurance companies, and she knew the whole time that cancer grew inside her, and that the longer she waited, the less likely she was to live. During a congressional hearing on the matter of rescission, the CEOs of three major insurance companies said that they would not change their policy of preying upon the weak.
