One Way to Read It

I am no longer a Democrat because I am anti-war. I am not a Republican, because I am anti-mercantilist. There is only one free-market, anti-war candidate that I know: Ron Paul. There are a bunch of losers aiming for the GOP ticket for president. Many magazines, newspapers, and shows seem to conveniently omit Ron Paul, even though he won the 2011 CPAC poll. Author Tom Woods here defends the misrepresented Paul:

Though I’m Mormon, I support Ron Paul over Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney, I’m sure, is a great man—but he knows it. Take a look at his hair. He wears that piece like crown of assumed authority. Ron Paul looks like an amicable grandpa who sometimes tells stories that no one understands (but in his case, it is caused by our ignorance, not his senility). We need wisdom more than charisma, experience more than courage. Charisma and courage have led us into countless, endless, wars in the last century. We need wisdom that will steer us toward peace. We need the experience of men who have seen the innocent die , who know firsthand the cost of sacrifice, who will never sacrifice our children to an unjust war. We need a revolution. We need Ron Paul .

The TSA notoriously searched a shirtless four-year-old autistic kid. The boy's father took off his shirt , but still. A TSA xray rapescan operater in Colorado was caught masturbating to a highschool football team. Rapescan executive Deepak Chopra traveled to India with President Obama , ensuring a continued alliance between our government and the every-traveler-a-porn-star industry. The TSA made a breast cancer-survivor show her breast implant. The TSA broke the seal on a urostomy bag of another cancer-survivor, soaking his pants in urine , and did not apologize. I continue my rallying cry to travelers: "Don't wash your balls" for the TSA. It's unconstitutional, intrusive, humiliating, and ineffective.

I voted for Obama, and am a registered Democrat. But after Obama got elected . . . nothing changed. He's not a miracle worker, and there is indeed a lot that he just can't fix. But I'm more worried about the things that he does have control over that he doesn't change. Like the war in Iraq. Or the Patriot Act. Or the economic war with Iran. How to end the war in Iraq. Obama is not much different from our last president. This has helped me to realize that I'm a Libertarian. I'll write more on this in the future. But just to give you an example on why Libertarians have a good idea, let's talk about the police force. Libertarians believe that just about everything should be privatized, including the police. People worry that this would lead to police abuse. Well, it's a little too late for that: This week cops tazed an 86 year-old bedridden grandma because she wouldn't take her meds. The cops can do this, because they get paid no matter what....

He opposes the sanctions because they are detrimental to our national security. The rest of Congress puts our nation in jeopardy for political gain. Part 1. Paul reminds that the CIA instigated regime change in Iran back in 1953. We put in a dictator, and the whole thing blew up in our face. Al Qaeda wants us to go to war in the Middle East. It will hurt us financially, and help them recruit people against us. If we make preliminary attacks, we will as guilty as the Japanese during Pearl Harbor. Iran is not capable of attacking us. They are not a threat. They cannot even make enough gasoline for themselves. This policy will backfire and hurt us. Part 2. This is like our war with Iraq. We instituted sanctions and bombed them, killing thousands of children. If anyone thinks taking away gasoline from the common person in Iran, will make them want to get rid of the Ayatollah . . . it does exactly the opposite. These sanctions will only push them toward China, India, and Russia. They...

Paul makes fun of the Nobel, chastises Reps and Dems from not criticizing their own parties, and encourages dissent: I'm a fan of both Ron Paul and Noam Chomsky, who seem to be on opposite sides of the spectrum. But they are both anti-war, anti-interventionist, and honest thinkers.

I have made fun of Glenn Beck before . But I actually agree with some of the things he believes in, which is why he bothers me even more. Murray Rothbard explained the problem nicely: While [his] own intense emotion might seem a valid basis for [his] own political philosophy, this can scarcely serve to convince anyone else. By ultimately taking [himself] outside the realm of rational discourse, [Beck] thereby insure[s] the lack of general success of [his] own cherished doctrine. Ron Paul also encourages you to fight for your right to party . Though Paul has never smoked weed, he knows that the war on drugs is bad for America. From BoingBoing

Do people listen to this guy? Main Point: Obama doesn't care about Afghanistan. Instead of this guy? Main Point: There is no reason for the war in Afghanistan.

Ron Paul is your example of a Biblical Saint. You too, Mormons. Paul said: "When this all gets out, I'm probably going to have to apologize to my supporters because I think most of them are going to figure out why in the world didn't I sock this guy in the nose?" and "the fact that he has raunchy material and people buy into it — it's sort of sad that that is a reflection of our culture."

If a Republican claims that he wants to cut your taxes, but wants to keep waging war as usual, then he means that he wants to tax you deceivingly through inflation, and tax your children through a larger national debt. Which makes this lady the ideal Republican voter, because she doesn't understand the connection between taxes and war. More Republicans should be stand up to our war policy

The Fed hired former Enron lobbyist to prevent congress from passing legislation that would allow them to be audited. Kind of a dumb move, considering Enron was . . . Enron , a company that was able to steal billions from investors before imploding because it wasn't audited. The Fed can print money, they won't have a very hard time bribing congress. They've gone into attack mode because Ron Paul is pushing legislation to allow us to audit them. The Fed is basically a giant bank that can print its own money without any sort of oversight. It has been called legalized counterfeiting. Ron Paul thinks the American people should know what they are up to.
