The 7-1 Conspiracy

A co-worker brought up that late-night comics make fun of Republicans seven times more than they tease Democrats.

He then said, "Why does that not surprise me?"

Instead of telling him, I'm going to blog about it, because I'm anti-social.

It's simple. If Obama had chosen a hillbilly as a potential president, Democrats would get a fairer share of jokes.

But Obama chose someone who is qualified. More smart than funny.

Also, American culture is youth-focused. Americans treat oldness like a disease. They get surgeries, take pills, and change their lifestyles to avoid it.

You see? To Americans, John McCain isn't just old, he's a victim of disease. One of those gross diseases. And we can't help but stare. We have to laugh to keep from crying.

One more point. Not only has McCain's pick provided plenty of ammunition for jokes, it has also cast doubt in the minds of voters on McCain's qualifications. If McCain is reckless enough to pick someone he doesn't know for an important office, what other reckless things will he do as president?

His rash actions have stirred up some people in the media, who do not want his unvetted V.P. in the White House. These people are now doing what they can to keep her out.
