Bush Memos: It's okay to do whatever

Memos written by Bush officials, notably John Yoo, and others (that's the extent to which I've read them), argued that the President can pretty much do whatever he wants to stop the scary terrorists. Including:
  • Attack apartment buildings and offices in the U.S. with the military
  • Spy on U.S. citizens.
  • Go to war without congressional approval (unconstitutional)
  • Arrest people without warrant (unconstitutional)
  • Ignore the 1st amendment if it got in the way (probably unconstitutional)
Well, which is more important, freedom or safety?

note: John Yoo is on notice
