Obama Protest in SLC
Protesters mad that money being taken from the rich, given to the rich. Angry at Obama.
"Nobody ever got a job from a poor person."-Alisa Kirkham, Provo.
Except maybe these poor people. But otherwise poor people are worthless. Right Alisa?
Once again, taxes are terrible when we use them to build our own country. If we use them to kill people, taxes are just annoying.

I hopped over here from Crystal's blog a while back and have been reading you faithfully ever since. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your point of view and your excellent discussions of important topics. I often find you saying exactly what I'd like to say but much more clearly and with much better sources to back you up. Thanks and keep it up (and don't listen to Crystal too much)!
ReplyDelete(Just kidding, Crystal, you know I love your Obama-hatin' guts!)
Thanks Amy. You made my day. Usually the only people who leave comments disagree with me. Sometimes I feel like a lone looney in the midst of a mob.
ReplyDeleteYou do understand that your list of "poor people" who you seem to think are giving out jobs are no longer poor, right?
ReplyDeleteAlso, your sensationalization of pretending defense spending is used solely for 'killing people' is cute. Stupid, but cute. Just in case you actually care about facts, we spent 21% of our federal budget on Social Security in 2008, 31.7% on entitlement programs (welfare, medicare, medicaid, unemployment, etc) and 16.6% on defense. So your conclusion that the amount of money we spend to "kill people" is much bigger than anything else we spend money on only works if you think it's 1945.
Better luck next time.
Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteYes, those poor people are rich. That's the irony. Alisa said "Nobody ever got a job from a poor person." But these poor people were lucky enough to get rich and provide jobs to others.
But the joke kind of loses its punch when I have to explain it.
I'm just fighting against that 'poor people are lazy' belief. See, I believe that in America, anyone can achieve anything. Poor people can work hard, and if they're lucky, earn enough capital to provide jobs to others.
Also notice that link from "these poor people" is to a wikipedia article titled, "rags to riches." So, yeah, I knew they were rich.
